Why This Happens

relief—sugar becomes a fast and familiar comfort, boosting dopamine and grounding

energy into the physical body. But this is often a signal of an energy system seeking safety,

What Your Body Might Be Saying

• “I need to feel safe.”

• “I need to ground into my body.”

• “I’m overwhelmed and need comfort now.”

• “I don’t know what to do with this energy.”


Gentle Grounding Alternatives

Try these when cravings spike or anxiety rises:

• Sip warm herbal tea (chamomile, cinnamon, or licorice root).

• Eat naturally sweet grounding foods: roasted carrots, sweet potatoes, dates, or a spoonful

of almond butter with honey.  1/4 cup low-fat Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla, unsweetened) Add a sprinkle of stevia or monk fruit, cinnamon, and a few raspberries or blueberries

• Touch something textured—soft blankets, grounding stones, or your own skin with gentle

pressure.

• Move your body: shake it out, walk barefoot, or stretch slowly.


Energy Practices for Anxiety Relief

• Humming or chanting softly for 3-5 minutes or ten times (stimulates the vagus nerve).

LOVE THIS ONE!!!

• Breathe in for 4, hold for 4, exhale for 6. Repeat 5 times. (box breathing)

• Place one hand on your chest, the other on your solar plexus. Say: “I am here. I am safe.”

• I release the need for fast comfort. I choose slow nourishment.

• I trust the signals of my body and respond with love.

• I am supported through energetic shifts.

• I ground gently into the present moment.
